Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is StampLock?
A. StampLock is an app that adds watermarks (stamps) to images to protect your copyright. It prevents unauthorized use when posting to social media and allows you to share original images only with trusted people.
Q. What is a stamp?
A. A stamp is a watermark added to an image. It can be added in various forms such as text, overlay, or QR code.
Q. What is an unlock code?
A. An unlock code is a password to remove the stamp and view the original image. With Premium, a unique code is generated for each work. Only those who know this code can access the original image.
Q. What is a Short ID?
A. A Short ID is a 12-character identifier assigned to each work. It's used at the end of URLs to directly access the work's page. Unlike the unlock code, it's public information.
Q. What features are free?
A. The free plan includes watermark customization (text, size, opacity, position, etc.) and creating/saving stamped images.
Q. What are Premium features?
A. Premium features include unlock code generation, cloud storage of original images, and QR code embedding. Available with monthly or yearly subscription.
Q. How do I cancel my subscription?
A. For iOS, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. For Android, open Google Play Store → Subscriptions.
Q. What happens when I delete a work?
A. When you delete a work, the stamped image, original image (if stored), and unlock code are all deleted. This cannot be undone, so please be careful.
Q. What is the QR code for?
A. The QR code contains the work's URL. By adding it to the stamped image, viewers can scan the QR code to access the work page and enter the unlock code to view the original image.
Q. Is my data secure?
A. Yes. All communications are encrypted with SSL/TLS, and unlock codes are stored as hashes. Access to original images is restricted to those who know the unlock code.
